I think I am over my head on the stainless idea. I am running a millermatic 172 setup for steel. I think it is a 75%/25% argon mixture. I was told to use a flux core wire to make my life easier, and was hoping I could do the same with Stainless. I am only looking to weld small decorative items, like a 2'x3' fountain with pretty thin metal.
Stainless Steel Wire Spool. We offer you a sizable inventory of stainless steel (ss) wire that is packaged on spools to accommodate your attachment requirements for tags, nameplates, signs, and placards. Spools are a great choice by giving you the option to cut the specific length of wire you wish to use.
The difference between the listed shipping weight and wire weight is the weight of the spool. Spool dimensions vary and are not guaranteed. Heavier spools are usually 12" diameter x 4" deep and 1lb are usually 4" in diameter and 2.8" deep!!! Important Note: As of June 1st 2018 the United States implemented tariffs on Steel WIRE that is not made
Wire Options for Aluminum Vs. Steel. Aluminum and steel are two of the most common materials that welders work with. In the case of a MIG welder that is adapted with a wire feeding spool for aluminum, you’ll want to pick a wire that is a bit stiffer in order to make it feed easier.
Stainless Steel Wire Rope. Having sold over 2,000,000 metres of Stainless Steel wire through our online store we know and trust what we sell. Each wire is available by the metre or in a 305m roll. If you require 150m for example select the metre listing and add 150 as the quantity. You will receive 1 continuous length.
If you prefer a finger-friendly picture wire, this wire is made of high-strength, corrosion resistant stainless steel that is soft and very flexible and coated with a protective plastic. It comes on spools.
Our 1 Lb. spool of Flux-Cored 308 Alloy Stainless Steel is the self-shielding tubular version of solid ER308L stainless steel welding wire. The benefit of using this wire is that it does not require a shielding gas. It may be used for welding all 300 series stainless steel up to and including 308L. It can also be used for welding 430 stainless.
Welding Stainless Steel Welders often use stainless steel because it is very resistant to both rust and corrosion, thanks to the high levels of chromium contained in it. Being able to weld stainless steel is a great skill for any welder to have because not only
Flat Wire is available in stainless steels, specialty metals, and carbon steel, in small to truckload quantities. Our flat wire is available in the traditional natural round edge or square edge.We also have the capability of providing broken corner and controlled radius edges when required.
The table shows some results of MIG welding austenitic stainless steel sheet using a one millimetre diameter wire, with a variety of gases. The volts and amps recorded indicate the lowest settings which achieved the stable transfer mode indicated.
316L Stainless Steel Wire. You will receive a 100ft spool. You might have used 316L SS before but we decided to change it up a bit and we made sure to have the new KP 316L SS wire annealed to the same KPSI as Kanthal. After further testing this wire is right in between the same KPSI as KA1 and N80.
MIG & Flux-Cored Welding Wire Select from a wide range of the most popular steel, stainless steel and aluminum MIG and FCAW welding alloys. ALWAYS WEAR PROPER BREATHING PROTECTION WHILE WELDING

Thin Stainless Steel will move inches as you tack weld and a simple 90 degree tee joint can distort as much as 45 degrees. Most Common Electrodes and Gas for MIG Welding Stainless Steel. The most common electrode to weld stainless steel is the ER308 L and the gas type is C2 or 2% Carbon Dioxide and 89% Argon.
We offer three types of picture hanging wire: traditional braided picture wire, stainless steel picture wire and vinyl coated stainless steel wire. Braided picture wire is made from braided (interwoven) strands of thin galvanized steel wire. This process makes the finished product strong, in terms of its breaking strength, yet flexible.
Its main benefit is the increase in amperage that you can use over the 100, 150 A at a 60% duty cycle as opposed to 135 A at 30% duty cycle. This should ensure better weld penetration on thicker materials. It has bigger tips and can run 5000 series wire. It is also able to use up to two pound spools of steel, silicon bronze and stainless steel

Artistic Wire craft wire is considered "dead soft" on the wire hardness scale, because it is bendy and pliable. This is a round (or twisted!) copper wire that has been colored with an enamel coating. This process has been developed to resist tarnishing, chipping, or peeling.
